3. Presenting: BoxingAmir This presentation is done without any notes. It is enthusiastic, detailed and knowledgeable. He confidently conveys information and ideas and emphasises some significant points and issues. He makes appropriate use of SE with a range of verbal and non-verbal techniques. The delivery is quite fast, so at times lacks a certain cogency, but the overall presentation is reasonably well shaped. 11, Band 4
6. Presenting: What really annoys meJessica The talk without notes is very wide-ranging and ambitious, but perhaps does not quite knit together into a fully coherent whole. She highlights some interesting priorities within her topic and shows an assured and flexible use of spoken language. She investigates several complex ideas and has an impressive repertoire of strategies in presenting herself personally. A sophisticated performance, but the structure of her talk must be taken into account. 13, Band 5
10. Presenting: RacismZain Real strengths here are his general engagement with the audience. He uses non verbal features to add impact, has enthusiasm, does not rely on notes and engages with ideas. Weaknesses are the repetition of certain phrases (‘as you know’) and a certain lack of structure and shape to the overall talk. His response to the final question is perceptive. 8, Band 3
