This no-fuss integration capability was a primary concern when evaluating solutions – it is very important for a feature-rich platform to play nicely with our other systems.” - Mr. Tim Ware, Director of Parking Enforcement Department, City of Aspen The Challenge The Department of Parking, which oversees 850 commercial on-street parking spaces, a 340-space public parking garage, and 3000 residential parking spaces, needed to deploy an efficient parking enforcement system. The Solution The City of Aspen selected Genetec’s AutoVu License Plate Recognition (LPR) software and specialized cameras to enforce time-limit regulations. The LPR cameras read surrounding vehicle plates, compares them to a database and alerts the staff when action is required. • The Impact • 900% increase in geographical coverage with less staff. • Number of bootable cars reduced by 50%. • Gross increase in efficiency of City of Aspen parking enforcement team.
