Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Getting Fluent with Information Technology By Andrew Kim Data Analysis and Visualization with MS Excel Computational thinking involves computer science with problem solving. It is utilized to algorithmically solve complex problems, and realize large improvements in efficiency. http://acsweb.ucsd.edu/~ajk026/CSE3/CSE3Page.html http://acsweb.ucsd.edu/~ajk026/index.html MS Excel is also another feature of MS office. From spreadsheets to charts and graphs, it allows you to visualize information such as budgets. We created a stock portfolio with excel, and manipulated our information into visually attracting graphs and charts. Desktop Publishing with MS Word MS Word is one of the most basic programs that will help you master computational thinking. We created Dynamic Webpage Programming with Javascript a career plan for ourselves, using templates and other methods, to help us master the advanced tricks of MS Word. Visual Programming with Alice Alice is a program written in Java by Carnegie Mellon students. It allows users to interact with a 3-D world using Java methods to control the world. Presentation of Information with Word & PowerPoint Javascript is one of the many computing languages out there. Iwhereas HTML can get the job done, it doesn’t allow the user to interact with the program. Javascript fixes that by allowing GUI buttons, pop out boxes, etc, that allows users to manipulate information in the form of variables so each time a program is ran, a different outcome is produced. For our assignment, we controlled a world where a family of frogs escape from a hawk by jumping from their lily pads into the water.
