Pawnee Visit The Pawnee Radar was visited this past week The radar was being checked to see if it needed to be calibrated A test will begin there sometime in November
Inside the Radome This shows the dish inside the Radome Here are the synchros that transmit the azimuth and elevation rotation of the dish This is where the ARS-20 encoders will go
Why replace the synchros? The synchros are needed to be replace because they are very old and can’t replace parts Lots of wires over long distances are expensive and they are prone to noise and damage Digital outputs from encoders compared to analog from synchros Note: Lots of wires
Progress on BASYS Board Finally, was able to implement simple logic devices such as ands and ors Determine output from encoder and how it relates to interface board Working on converting Gray code to Binary code, then will try simulations Upcoming developments processes Parallel to serial converter, convert Serial Synchronous Interface (SSI) data
