Society : Regulation/Law • Compulsory Education : 9 years (will be 12 years in 2014) • Compulsory Military Service : 1.5~3 years • Compulsory Health Insurance : as long as living in Taiwan • Fireworks : basically are allowed to play everyday, except in protected area (ex: national parks) or in cities (ex: Taipei) • Smoking : forbidden in any indoor public area • No Gun : except austronesians can apply hunting guns • Death Penalty : still exists and still executes • Same-sex Union : no legal validity
