20. Srinivas Sampath Maldives, June 17-18, 2006 Summary of what we have done Promoting good Corporate Governance is an important strategic area for COMSEC
COMSEC has a comparative advantage in this area
Training & capacity building, with national code & individual action plan is the focus.
Partnership is key to the process
Impact has been positive & widespread contributing to achieving the Development Goals.
21. Srinivas Sampath Maldives, June 17-18, 2006 In summary… Over US $ 2 million has been invested by COMSEC on the Corporate Governance programme.
Focus primarily on grass-roots training of Directors
COMSEC programme is extremely good value for money, compared to the coverage we have had.
But we need partners who can commit technical and financial resources for Corporate Governance
22. Srinivas Sampath Maldives, June 17-18, 2006 Where do we want to go from here?

Specific programmes for trustee/board members of co-operatives, NGOs and not- for profit organisation needs to be developed.
27. Srinivas Sampath Maldives, June 17-18, 2006 Partner network COMSEC would continue to work very closely with its partners in extending its mandate of corporate governance.
It would also explore opportunities to work with new partners, who could bring significant value addition both in terms of financial and technical resources and capability.
In parallel strengthen the capacities of regional partners in countries, who could sustain the capacity building process in the region.
28. Srinivas Sampath Maldives, June 17-18, 2006 In summary… CG will continue to remain a focus area of COMSEC’s activities.
The focus and attention needs to be channelised in certain key areas.
It aims to network more closely with other development partners and institutions in delivering its mandate.
Extend support to in-country partners; to sustain its work on corporate governance.
