  2. What is Trope Trainer? • This is the ultimate tool for learning cantillation. • Trope- is the ritual chanting of readings from the Bible in Synagogue. • The symbols underneath and above the Hebrew words are associated with specific musical motifs.

  3. Calendar • For every Shabbat or holiday there are certain assigned portions that are read by the Cantor and or congregation members. • Open Calendar • This setting allows one to choose the reading. • Keep in mind that the Jewish calendar is different from the Western Calendar.

  4. Open Reading Window • The open reading window allows you to also choose your own portion. • For Example, if you need to learn a portion for a month from now.

  5. Trope Trainer Settings • Melody • Pronunciation • Voice • Voice Vol. • Inst Vol. • Speed • Pitch

  6. Bottom Settings continued • Pitches/Notation • Transliteration • Translation • Name of Trope

  7. Settings continued • Play through • Play until end of aliyah (section) • Play end of verse • Play repeat • Play until end of trope group • Play selected word • Stop • Record/iTunes
