  3. Gon Phom Fie Ceremony Amphue Bang Pahan, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Phom Fie means hair presented at birth. People believe that it has passed through dirty things so it should be shaved. The ceremony is held when a baby is one month old, normally on Fridays or on auspicious days. The performer is an elder relative or respectful person, or parents.

  4. Gon Phom Fie ceremony is similar to Gon Phom Juk ceremony. However there isn't the ceremony to call the spirit in Gon Phom Fie ceremony. During the ceremony, the performer says good words and wish the baby a happy life, and be healthy and strong. For the rich families, parents hold the ceremony for every child but for the poor family, parents hold the ceremony for the first child. And parents shave their children's hair by themselves.

  5. After the ceremony, if the children are often sick, their parents or grandparents let them have a topknot or tufts .Their parents model dolls with a topknot or tufts. Then the children choose one style of them. The children can play with the doll they choose or their parents put it on the spirit's house. When the children have the hair style they choose, they will get better and be healthy. Now the topknot is not popular because the parents have to spend a lot of money to hold the ceremony.
