Fayetteville Public Library: Baby Bookworm Program By Megan Harness
Baby Bookworm 0-24 month old babies Offered every week, four times a week Lasts approximately 20-25 minutes Approximately 100 people when I observed!
Purpose of Baby Bookworm Engage audience with: Nursery rhymes Interactive songs A short children’s book, this time Five Lil Monkeys Games and Books to play with before leaving
Baby Bookworm Song Sample “The more we read together, Together, together The more we read together The happier we’ll be! ‘Cause your books are my books And my books are your books And the more we read together The happier we’ll be!”
Baby Bookworm The room was packed full of babies and parents singing, clapping, dancing, napping, reading, jumping, wandering around… (Sorry for the horrible picture quality!)
Baby Bookworm: Evaluation A great program for extremely young children Requires the help of parents Helps children develop skills by encouraging them to clap, find their body parts, shake a noise maker, sing along, and focus during the book reading. Needs to be smaller to aid in engagement
