  3. CAB Function & Process Examples: • CAB functions as a liaison between researchers and community • CAB has agreed upon its own operating guidelines

  4. Community Example: • The community trusts the researchers

  5. Research Team Involvement, Design and Process Examples: • The Primary Investigator or key site staff are actively involved in meeting with the CAB • The research builds on strengths and resources of the community

  6. Ethics Examples: • The research procedure is fully explained to the participants • CAB assists in the informed consent process

  7. Outcomes Example: • Research findings are presented to the trial participants in a timely manner.

  8. Small Groups • What additional things would indicate to you that community had been successfully involved in the domain you are working with?
