Advantages of the Pulse Rectifier Current-Type • Sinusoidal current consumption from the mains. • Power factor can be set in wide range, so the pulse rectifier can perform the function of the compensators itself. Minimisation of the sizes and also the price of the chokes at the input side of the converter. • There is not a dangerous effect of not passed commutation as it is in phase controlled rectifiers. Small distance-velocity lag of the converter given by high frequency of the modulation (VPWM or delta modulation). The lower ripple of the output rectified DC current. It enables to use a smaller smoothing choke at the DC side. The converter retains its preferences even at the deformed voltage in the mains.

Delta Modulation The principle for the Input Unit: • The calculation of the differences between desired and real instantaneous values of the input phase currents. • The determination of the switching combination of the next period for minimizing the differences. The principle for the Output Unit: The calculation of the differences between desired and real instantaneous values of the output phase voltages. The determination of the switching combination of the next period for minimizing the differences.
