Primary and Secondary • 3 Primary colors cannot be mixed from other colors • 3 Secondary colors are mixed from the primary colors
PRIMARY COLORS Definition: A primary color cannot be created by mixing any other colors together. There are 3 primary colors.They are RED, BLUE, and YELLOW.
PRIMARY COLORS Primary colors are equal distances from each other on the color wheel.
Secondary ColorsDefinition: A secondary color is made by mixing two primary colors together. There are 3 secondary colors. They are orange, green, and violet. Can you guess what primary colors make orange? Green? Violet?
How do we mix primary colors to create secondary colors? Violet = Blue and Red Green= Blue and Yellow Orange= Red and Yellow
Tertiary Colors Also known as “intermediate” colors are created by Mixing a Primary color and a secondary color in various amounts
Intermediate or tertiary colors: There are 6 tertiary colors. They are: Yellow-orange, red violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green and red-orange.
