Marine litter • The vast majority of marine litter is plastic, for example plastic bag, plastic bottle, crisp packets. A normal plastic bottle can be left in the beach can last for more than 450 years. • Beach users have to be worried of injury from broken glass, rusting metal or discarded medical waste. • Sources of marine litter*: • 40.4% from the public = plastic bottle, broken glass • 4.5% Sewage related Debris= toilet waste • 13.9% fishing litter= old fishing net • 0.7% fly tipping= sofa, metal • 3.9% shipping= oil waste and shipping waste • 0.2% medical waste= plasters and Bandages • 36.3% non-sourced = come from anywhere
Sewage outfall Sewage outfall is all the dirty stuff that comes from the toilet and it goes up to the sea and goes from there to other places. It also stinks the whole place because its all dirty things. You have to keep away from it because you could get ill my inhaling all the dirty smell.
