Read 180 Overview • Read 180 is a research-based reading intervention program published by Scholastic in collaboration with Vanderbilt University. Read 180 software provides struggling readers with intensive, differentiated skills practice, and instruction that: • collects data to continually adjust instruction to meet each student's needs (differentiated instruction) • offers continuous support and immediate feedback • is tremendously engaging and motivating with over 100 videos from grade-level science, math, history, and social studies content areas • builds phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
Software Program Contents • Read 180's research-proven software provides differentiated, adjusted instruction and practice in word study, vocabulary, fluency, spelling, and comprehension in four zones: • Reading Zone • Word Zone • Spelling Zone • Success Zone
Read 180 Model The READ 180 Instructional Model provides a simple way to organize instruction and classroom activity. The session begins and ends with whole-group teacher-directed instruction.
