  2. Fern convinces her father to let her take care Wilbur instead of killing him. • Fern’s brother, Avery wants a pig too, but his dad won’t let him have one.

  3. Wilbur goes to live on Fern’s Aunt and Uncle Zuckermans’ farm and Fern visits him there almost every day.

  4. Wilbur meets lots of new animals: Templeton the rat who likes to eat almost as much as Wilbur. Three geese and their goslings (babies) Sheep and their lambs

  5. Even though there are lots of animals, Wilbur is still lonely does not have any friends until he meets Charlotte one morning.

  6. The old sheep scares Wilbur by telling him that fall is coming and that the Zuckerman’s will kill him so they will have ham and bacon to eat during the cold winter months.

  7. Wilbur is very sad and Charlotte tells him not to worry she will do something that will make the farmer see how special he is so he won’t kill him.

  8. Charlotte came up with a plan to trick Farmer Zuckerman so he wouldn’t kill Wilbur .

  9. When Lurvy came to feed Wilbur early • the next morning, this is what he saw in the • corner of the barn door… SOMEPIG

  10. Charlotte’s trick worked! People came from all around to see Wilbur .

  11. Mr. Zuckerman decided to take Wilbur to the fair to see if he would win first place and a blue ribbon . • Charlotte and Templeton snuck in the crate and went with him.

  12. Wilbur did not win a blue ribbon, instead he won a bronze medal for attracting so many people to the town to see him. • Farmer Zuckerman found out how special Wilbur was and decided not to kill him

  13. Charlotte laid some eggs in a sack and told Wilbur to take care of them because she was going to die. • Wilbur kept the egg sack in his mouth until they got back to the barn.

  14. Charlotte had lots and lots of babies. Most sailed away with the wind but three decided to stay and live with Wilbur because they liked him so much, just like their mom. • Wilbur loved Charlotte’s kids but he never forgot Charlotte and the nice things she did for him that saved his life.
