  2. Steps in a Portfolio Development • Develop a Portfolio Policy • who is going to collect data? • whom is the data being collected on? • when is this being done? • who is responsible? • who will this be shared with? • teacher’s release time? • NEEDS TO BE IN HANDBOOK

  3. Collecting Work Samples • Define the size and quantity for each child. Date each item. Take photos of large stuff or three dimensional stuff, or child doing activities. • Define the time schedule of collecting resources. • Will you collect items related to show developmental growth?

  4. Take Photographs • Figure out who, when, how often, of what, • Who is going to finance this? • How? Selling of photos to parents • PTA • Fund raising • classroom budget- lose art supplies

  5. Take Photographs continued • Confidentiality can all children be photographed. Adoption and divorce are 2 cases that might not allow this. • Watch what you photograph • Signature of parental consent
