The Deaflympics is a global scale event In 2015 from March’28 till April’05 Khanty-Mansiysk and Magnitogorsk will host the XVIII Winter Deaflympics Khanty-Mansiysk Magnitogorsk
HISTORICAL INFORMATION 1 9 1 4 –deaf sports starts to develop in Russia; 1 9 4 9 - the first International Winter Deaflympics, the program of the competitions includes 2 disciplines; 1 9 7 1 – Russia is participating in the Deaflympics for the first time; 2 0 0 6 – the Deaflympic movement starts its developing in Ugra; 2 0 0 9 – the athletes from Ugra are taking part in the Summer Deaflympics for the first time; • 2015 – the Winter Deaflympics will be held in Russia, the program includes 5 sport disciplines: • Competitions in 5 sports will take place in Khanty-Mansiysk; • Competitions in 4 alpine skiing disciplines will take place in Magnitogorsk; • National team of Russia will consist of 78 athletes from 19 country regions;
