Closing the Gap – Progress Data • New feature in portal – Autumn term 2019 • Only children who have stayed with you after the summer break – enter their progress as of end of summer term • No duplication • Simple drop down menu of choices • Data collected on : • Communication & Language / Physical Development , PSED / Literacy / Numeracy • Best Fit Approach & Your expertise decides outcomes • . www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
Progress Data • If the child is not yet showing progress within the expected age band they would be deemed to be working below the typical stage of development for their chronological age. • Is the child demonstrating a few/some of the elements of an age-band (having shown competence in the previous age-band)? If so, this child is entering that age-band. • Is the child demonstrating many of the elements of an age-band? If so, this child is developing within that age-band. • Is the child demonstrating most of the elements of an age-band? If so, this child is securing that age-band. • If the child is demonstrating progress above the expected age band they would be deemed to be working above the typical stage of development for their chronological age www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
