  1. Welcome back to ScH0oL…. 2015 – 2016 school year “You Can Do This” “Don’t ollow your dreams…lead it” Ms. McIntyre & Ms. Ramus Algebra I – Geometry ♥ jmcintyre@lindenps.org ♥

  2. Summer Packet: • DUEThursday 9/10/15!! • Will count as your FIRSTTest of the marking period! • Any students that hands it inTODAYwill receive extra10points • Any students that hands it in TOMORROW willreceive extra 5points. • NO LATE packet will be accepted… • Next Tuesday: 9/15/15will have our Summer Packet Test. • If lost, can be retrieved my website.

  3. MATERIALS NEEDED: • Textbook / laptop (fully charged) • 3 – ring binder • PENCILS!!! • Highlighters • Scientific calculator and/or Graphing calculator • (to use at home)

  4. Protect Our Learning Environment • The students are responsible to: • Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity. • Come to class ON TIME • Come to class prepared – bring all necessary materials with you daily.

  5. PROCEDURES: • Classroom routines: • Sharpen pencils as soon as you enter the classroom. • Immediately begin “Do Now ” and have HW ready for me to check. • Ask to go to the bathroom during independent class work time not during instructional time – EMERGENCIES ONLY!! • Ask permission to leave seat. • Any garbage will be thrown away at the beginning or end of class – DO NOT INTERRUPT! • Sign in and out when leaving the room – MUST have an ID to • leave the room!! • When I need class’ attention, I will raise my hand. • I dismiss you,NOTthe bell! – No standing by the door to leave.

  6. Class work and homework policy • You are expected to show ALL work (unless told otherwise). NOWORK = NO CREDIT! • NO late assignments will be accepted. Students are only allowed to make up missed work if he/she were absent.

  7. Absences and make up work: • You are responsible to make up work when you are absent – otherwise missed work will be given a zero grade. • All class work/homework will be posted on the website. • All dittos (handouts) will be posted on the website. • You have three school days to make up any work.

  8. In-school suspension (ISS)/Out-of-school suspension (OSS): Students are TO DO the work given. Any work not completed and return will receive a zero grade.

  9. Cut: Students are N O T to make up any work when caught cutting the class. Students will receive a zero grade.

  10. HOW YOU ARE GRADED • 45% - • TEST:given at end of each chapter • Notebook check: Checked at the end of the marking period • -20 points: “Do Now” • -10 points: Objectives • -30 points: Class notes (Hand outs) • -40 points: CW/HW • 25% - • Quiz:given at least ONCEa week • 15% - Classwork / Homework • 15% - Classparticipation / Preparedness • **FINALEXAMis20%ofyouryeargrade**

  11. Lateness/tardiness: • When the bell rings, students are consideredLATE! – (must sign in the late book) • Student will receive a teacher detention (the next day); then office detention for chronic lateness. • If student is 30 minutes late to class without a pass, • he / she will be consider as a C U T!.

  12. Fire drills/security drills: • Follow the signs around the classroom. • Take it seriously!! • No talking, no cellphones

  13. CONSEQUENCES • Consequences students will face when rules are broken: • 1st offense – verbal warning • 2nd offense – 5 min. before/after • school detention/phone call home • 3rd offense – 15 min. after school detention and phone • call home. • Severe/repeated incidents – (fights; damages school property – teacher, and other students; disrespectful) • SENT to office!!

  14. Extra credits: Extra credit is a privilegeN O Tmandatory.

  15. Substitute teacher: • Students are responsible to respect substitute teacher as they respect their regular teacher. All assignments given in class by the substitute teacher will be collected, graded, and counted as a Q U I Z !
