BBA Value Creation Project June 2010
Our Goals… • Learn how to view Big Problems as Big Opportunities. • Learn how to sell your ideas. • Be inspired.
The Process… • We will introduce you to a Big Problem. • In your teams and using the Internet, you will identify Change Agents: people and/or organizations who are trying to solve some aspect of the Big Problem in a creativeandinnovative way. • As a team, you will choose one of the Change Agents who inspires you so much that you would like to support that cause (in Thailand, or anywhere in the world). • You will develop a a short, high-impact presentation and try to convince us to follow your Change Agent’s Cause. • You will put together a simple marketing plan, to raise money for the Cause.

Change Agents: Your Assignment • Working in your team, and using the Internet or any other resources at your disposal, find Change Agents from around the world, who are doing something about the problem of water. • Choose one that you like, and that you want to support. • Pay attention to: • What criteria you use to select your Change Agent • How you work as a team and organize your search • Feel free to define the Challenge broadly and be creative. • Balance scope with impact. • Be prepared to justify your decision—at 11 am you will make a ONE MINUTE pitch about your Cause and Change Agent. Why should the rest of us support you?
Marketing Project • Select one of the four final projects to create a marketing plan to raise money for the Cause or Change Agent. • Assume that you have limited time (5 hours) and limited geography (around Thammsat). • Make a marketing plan: • Define your target customer(s): who is likely to want to give money to your cause? • Determine your message: what information will persuade them to support you? • Estimate how many people you could get for support, if you carried out your plan, and how much would they give? • Deliverables: 3 slide/3 minute presentation • Slide 1: Overall amount that your plan could raise. Explain how you calculated the amount. • Slides 2 and 3: How would you do it? • Presentation due at 9 am tomorrow morning.
