Planned upgrade • OC-48 POS from APAN NOC in Tokyo to US (Los Angeles) • 2 x GE from APAN NOC in Tokyo to Chicago to participate in TransLight activities
Timing and Opportunities • We hope to have this infrastructure available on/about 1-October-2003. • Certainly it will be available for testing and use prior to SC2003. • The GE links provide for new opportunities for collaboration between Asia, the US and Europe.
SC2003 • This upgrade of TransPAC provides a significant opportunity to showcase Asia-US-EU science collaborations at SC2003. • We are excited about this opportunity and ready to assist.
Additional Areas of Focus • Global collaborations such as GFarm, Abilene Observatory and PlanetLab. • Security cooperation. • Tool development and sharing.
