WhAT Is Letters & Sciences? Letters and Sciences is the academic advising home for undergraduates who are deciding on a degree-granting major and/or completing gateway requirements for a Limited Enrollment Program.
Letters & Sciences (continued) • Letters & Sciences is not a degree granting major. LTSC students must declare a degree-granting major by the time they reach 60 credits (this does not include AP credits). • If undecided students discover interest in a non-LEP major, they can declare this at anytime throughout the semester. • Once students have met the gateway requirements for an LEP major, they are able to apply.

This waiver is for LTSC communication ONLY • Parent/Guardian Limited Access - students can grant parents access to their current course schedule, midterm and final grades, and student account balance information (www.registrar.umd.edu/parents)
How to help your student be successful at UMD • Encourage students to maintain a working email account and to check email regularly • Record and be aware of DEADLINES • Complete Mandatory Advising Requirements • Be in contact with LTSC Advisor for any questions about academic policies or other issues
