  5. SLO Notes • 2014 CFAY STEM Middle School Conferences- • Thurs. 03 April • Approximately 700 students • Girls from Yokosuka, Atsugi, & Zama. • Boys from Yokosuka • Several homeschool students

SLO Notes • 27 different workshops to include subjects such as: • surgery, architecture, telecommunications, chemistry, thermal imaging, generators, satellites, meteorology, radiology, crime scene blood analysis, diving, explosives, submarines, navigation, nutrition, electricity, physical therapy, lab techniques, robotics, • bio medical engineering, veterinary science, recycling, aviation repair, fuel pipelines, solar energy, micro-electronics, chemistry of fire, entomology, optometry, ecology, geology

SLO Notes • Military Child Education Coalition [MCEC] Trainings • Were held in Atsugi at Convention Center • 11-14 Feb: Student 2 Student trains students and S2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of high school. • Teams from four high schools were trained. 26 people trained. • 18-19 Feb:Supporting Children Through School Transitions: Guidance counselors, administrators, MFLCS, FFSC counselors, relocation, & social workers. 53 people trained • 20-21 Feb: Junior Student 2 Studenttrains students and JS2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of middle school. 20 people trained.

SLO Notes • Military Family Life Counselors - Current • Sullivans: 3 • Yokosuka Middle: 1 • Ikego Elementary/Byrd: 1 • Kinnick HS: 1 • CYP: 1 • TWO additional MFLCS will join current MFLCS 4th quarter. • One will be assigned to YMS • One will be assigned to Sullivans for remainder of the year. This position will shift to IKEGO at the start of the school year.

  10. Old Business • JDAC Representative: Captain Glenister per USFJ instruction will be selecting the JDAC representative who must be active duty. SACs were asked to consider criteria for selection of a parent representative and nomination suggestions for the Captain. • Item: OPEN

  11. Action Items • Ms. Russell was to set up meeting between Sullivans SAC and NAVFAC to discuss maintenance issues. - Completed- issue raised to JDAC • SACs were to consider JDAC representative criteria. -Completed
