  2. Metal ore • Metal ore comes from rocks with metal in them. • Miners must process roughly 33 tons of rock and earth to produce a single ounce of gold. • After the rock is mined it is crushed in large machines to separate the rock from the metal. • http://science.howstuffworks.com/iron.htm
