  2. ABOUT ME: • A teacher for 25 years and a member of Parliament for the seat of Sturt for 5 years • First founding member and Leader of Teachers for Australia • Lived and worked in several different countries to gain an International perspective in Education

  3. BACKGROUND • 1200 members Australia wide • Formed in 2001 • Made up of teachers, Principals and parents • Won three seats in SA in the last election

  4. POLICIES • Access to technology - Personal computer for all students • Environmentally friendly schools and classrooms that reduce our carbon footprint – building schools of the future • Civics and Citizenship studies compulsory R-12 • Students receive a Global education All schools must be built using sustainable methods and materials
