Knowledge issue “To what extent is the exertion of power of authority justifiable?”
Ways of Knowing • Language-What is the definition of Authority? • “Authority is the moral or legal right or ability to control”
Reorganized Definition of Authority -Compelling people to do something, to achieve one’s goal -Does not focus on public benefits or opinions of majority people
Ways of Knowing • Emotions -Many people such as the Libyan may feel unpleasant towards the holocaust of despotic government.
Area of Knowledge • History • -To accomplish one's greed, many people had become scapegoats.
Area of Knowledge • Ethics -If many people agreed with some ideas, it would be considered an ethical behavior and justifiable idea. -Utilitarianism
Knowers perspective -The answer to my Knowledge Issue depends on the ideas of people and it is changeable facts. -I am not a people who suffered by authority because I am living in democratic society. -Therefore, I am hard to feel any connection with the people those who suffered from authority.
Conclusion -In my opinion, I believe that the authority is justifiable when it fulfills my requirement that I mention. 0 If It justified based on Utilitarianism 0 If history justifies that as a good 0 If people think his or her authority is justifiable
