Signý Æsa Káradóttir Born: July 7, 1995 Age: 18, turning 19 Address: Hafnarfjörður Education: Undergraduate in the IB program at Hamrahlíð College (Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð) Hobbies and Interests: Drawing and singing, classical and contemporary concerts, art, design and architecture. Extra Curricular Activities: Iceland's Amnesty International Youth Division's PR representative for a year. She is also involved with the Icelandic Red Cross. Future Plans: Study either in HáskóliÍslands or ListaháskóliÍslands, in Architecture, Geology or Medicine. She would also like to study in Canada or Scandinavia. Expectations of Snorri West: She hopes to learn while establishing connections and make friends who will be able to relate to her interests and provide her with new ones.

Kristján Sævald Pétursson Born: June 4, 1987 Age: 26, turning 27 Address: Reykjavík Education: Diploma in Linguistics from Hamrahlíð College (Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð), AP Degree from The Nordic Multimedia Academy (Denmark), is currently in his 2nd year as a student at the University of Iceland in German Studies. Hobbies and Interests: Movies, history, world politics and languages,he speaks English, Old Norse, German, Danish/Scandinavian He is a film maker of many different projects. Extra Curricular/Community Involvement: Organizes film evenings, Red Cross, elderly people, his 84 yr. old grandfther. Future Plans Study multimedia and video in Berlin Expectations of Snorri West: He would like to see with his own eyes what it was like for the Icelanders in North America andfind out if he has any relatives in North America. He would like to have fun and meet new interesting people. He has been interested in this program for many years.

Stephanson, 3rd cousin of Ambassador Stefansson, 5rd cousin Ambassador Óskarsson, 5th cousin is Ingrid Louise Petursson of Toronto. His 2nd cousin, Anna Adkinson, lives in Houston, Texas. Anna GuðrúnRagnarsdóttir Born: March 6, 1994 Age: 20 Address: Reykjavík Education: Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti, completing her last semester in the Department of Natural Sciences Hobbies and Interests:Writing (stories, poems, lyrics), drawing, reading, animals, music (she sings in a band), taking pictures and videos, and folklore. Extra Curricular Activities: Red Cross. She helps out with an English class. Collaborated with schools in Faroes&DenmarkFuture Plans: She intends to also finish the Department of Art. May work as a concept artist or writer for computer games, movies or plays. Expectations of Snorri West: She wants to learn about her relatives and others who risked the journey over the sea to a new world. Wants to see how we live and celebrate traditional Icelandic events. • She is interested in museums & historical places.

Hilmar Páll Hannesson Born: April 5, 1994 Age: 19, turning 20 Address:Reykjavík Education: Finishing his 4th year at Hamrahlið College ( Hobbies and Interests:He loves music and he plays both piano and trumpet. Enjoys working on computers and playing video games, and sailing. Not only does he fluently understand English, he understands some Spanish and Danish language as well. Extra Curricular Activities: Involved in community matters and has collaborated with his friends to create a new political group. Future Plans: To study politics and psychology.His main dream is to become a politician Expectations of Snorri West:His twin sister, Hulda, went to Canada last year and he is looking forward to making his own stories. He would like to have the chance to portray a Viking or Leif Eriksson at L'Anse aux Meadows.

10. Hilmar Páll Hannesson Born: April 5, 1994 Age: 19, turning 20 Family Tree Information His 2nd cousin, Anna Adkinson, lives in Houston, Texas. In 1951, his great-aunt, Erna Sigurpálsdóttir Noël, moved to Akron, Ohio. His great-great-grandfather’s brother, ÞorgeirJónsson, also emigrated from Iceland to Canada at some point in time.
