  2. Green Needham Collaborative Green Needham is a collaborative – bringing together Needham residents and organizations who share a common interest in building a more sustainable community through collaborative efforts on energy and the environment.

Green Needham Mission Local projects, action and education to: • Reduce the use of fossil fuels • Save money on energy • Promote innovation in energy conservation and energy production, including renewable energy • Offer collaborative and educational opportunities for Olin College & Needham Public School students

  5. Community-wide Collaboration for energy & the environment • Generate community-wide engagement by providing a unified view of diverse efforts • Leverage and promote activities by multiple groups • Encourage networking and collaboration among Needham institutions, community organizations, businesses and individuals. • Reduce duplication by helping interested parties find and join existing efforts • Build and demonstrate a critical mass of support for action

Organization • Low overhead and flexible • Individual members • Steering Committee provides long-term guidance • Co-chairs coordinate, keep things moving • Collaborating organizations through participating members • Action teams to advance goals and distribute leadership • Focus on collaborative work outside of meetings • Supporting infrastructure to facilitate collaboration • Creating a Green Needham Foundation to enable grant support for community projects
