CWK CLEAN COAL MEDIA COVERAGE THE AUSTRALIAN national newspaper November 19, 2009 Special Report on CLEAN ENERGY Front page article by Robin Bromby about clean coal analyses various international strategies and includes this comment about Coalworks: “… Coalworks has defined a coal resource in southern NSW of more than 800 million tonnes, which it plans to gasify, then pump into a methanol unit to produce petrol using technology pioneered in New Zealand in the 1980s. Coalworks plans to pump the carbon dioxide into underground storage.”

    26. 26 OAKLANDS DEVELOPMENT TIMETABLE

    27. OAKLANDS VALUE ADDING STRATEGY Oaklands coal is ~2/3 energy of Hunter Valley coals Value adding to Coal Briquetting to increase energy Coal to petrol - more product /less transport cost Coal to Petrol - most profitable business case Producing 7,000 bpd petrol from 1.5Mtpa coal equates to ~same revenue as selling 4 Mtpa raw coal Added advantage : rail cost for petrol to market is ~2% revenues compared to coal ~25% revenues 2010 Marketing Study shows significant shortage of petrol in NSW and growing shortage in Victoria
