In spring of 1759 general James Wolfe (British) with massive force led a campaign to capture Quebec • the fleet stretched a distance of 150 km • Was difficult finding a place to attack • pg 54
On July 1759 Wolfe sent a force of 4000 soldiers to attack the Beauport Shore • Quebec had a strong defense • 440 British soldiers were either killed or wounded • The British were defeated
- A feint is a move designed to deceive an opponent • - Wolfe tricked the French to think he was going to attack the Beauport shore again • - General Montcalm (French) sent more troops to defend the Beauport Shore.
On September 12 Wolfe attacked Quebec from the west, climbing a steep and narrow path • British imposters killed the guard men at bottom of path • 5000 troops went up to the Plains of Abraham, an open field in Quebec
