The First Necessity 1. Mangiare meglio
1. Eat Better • Good vs. Bad Carbohydrate • Good vs. Bad Protein • Good vs. Bad Fat • No toxins • ‘tis so simple!
Carbohydrates • Bad Carbs: Any food that metabolizes to sugar rapidly. Low fiber. Low nutrients • Almost all processed foods. High glycemic index and load foods. Sugar • Good Carbs aka complex carbs: Any food that metabolizes to glucose slowly; high fiber; high nutrients. • All vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes
Protein • Bad Protein: High saturated fat, and toxins • Grain fed, fatty, American meat and poultry. Dairy. Large warm water fish. • Good Protein: Without saturated fat, no toxins. • Soy, legumes, vegetables, cold water smaller fish, nuts, grass fed ORGANIC meat, eggs.
Fats • Bad Fats: saturated, poly-unsaturated, trans-fats. • Animal fats. Cheese and Dairy. Processed foods. Fast foods. Any food with a shelf life of 6 months. Margarine. • Good Fats: monounsaturated; omega 3s • Olive Oil, nuts, avocado, flaxseeds, (salmon, etc), fish oils
No toxins • i.e., no preservatives, hormones, pesticides, antibiotics, dyes, chemicals • i.e., Fresh Organic Food from the Earth

Vividus • One who is full of life, animated, passionate, and vigorous; a sense of curiosity and wonder. • One who is grateful for all of life’s experiences, the challenging and exciting. • A powerful and playful soul who lives, appreciates, and celebrates life
