A young civil engineering student undertakes a global project to study traditional housing across 18 countries in diverse climates. The mission is to showcase the importance of preserving traditional architecture while incorporating modern amenities. The project aims to raise awareness about sustainable living practices and conservation of architectural heritage. The journey spans across various continents, collecting solutions and initiatives for ecological habitats accessible to all.

Who amI ? Jean-Gabriel Chelala, 23 years old Civil engineering student at the ESTP Paris. Local development project in Morocco and Bolivia. Commited association member. Amateur photographer for 7 years. Speak English, Spanish, Arabic.
Why this project need to exist Vision Traditional houses are the center of family and social life. It is the ID of a country and reflets its a culture. The guest for modernity and profit-making concerns have a damaging effect on traditional aspect of houses. • Mission • To show that the conservation of traditional architecture is important and that an habitate can be at the same time modern and traditional. That implies : • To study the traditional habitate, through 6 examples in more details. • To observe means and solutions installations and to put forward the interesting initiatives. • To reflect on and find other solutions. Ambition To convince you that an ecological habitat is accessible by all and to make the public aware of the importance of the conservation of our architectural heritage. To encourage every one to want to participate in bringing about change.

The objectives of the project Find solutions of handymen Find modern solutions Confirmation by professionals in the different countries Presentation of relevant and simple initiatives, meaningful directions and easily applicable by all. To increase public awareness of the importance of the conservation of the architectural heritage and traditional dwellings. To heighten public awareness of pollution and the energy wasting in the houses.
A well organized project • First stage : • To study monographs. • To seek people and organizations interested in studying relevant solutions brought in the traditional habitate. • Second stage : • To meet profesionals such as architects, civil engineers, teachers from different countries. • To meet local populations. • To index the interesting solutions and to present the various types of traditional habitats encountered.
The follow-up of my project My Internet Web Site : • Presentation of architecture and traditional houses in the crossed countries so far encountered. • Presentation of initiatives within the spirit of substainable development. • Tourist visit through the habitate and the local habits. • Photographs and conferences : • Photographs presenting the initiatives and the traditional • habitats encountered. • Conferences to increase public awareness of problems which concern us all : the disappearance of our architectural heritage and reduction of our energy resources.
