Effect(on Armed Forces) • Former disestablishments between inner and outer security are disappearing • Former military and non-military responsibilities are conglomerating • Military budgets are decreasing •  „pooling & sharing“ •  Stronger solidarity & cooperation is a must •  Implementation during Basic Officer Education ….. why? 

  9. Wayto a „European Basic Officer Education“ • Aim: • increase students’ academic & professional fields, • improve languages, intercultural skills,self-reliance &self-awareness • So far:2.2 million exchanges • Goal 2020:20% of all European students Why not use it for Military too ?

  11. Wayto a „European Basic Officer Education“ European Initiative for the exchange of young officers inspired by ERASMUS (“The Initiative”) We use it for Military !

Goalsof „the Initiative“ • Strengthen the interoperability of the Armed Forces, • promote a European Security and Defence Culture, • increase cooperation between Member States in the field of Basic Officer Training and • promote the mobility of students and teaching staff of military training institutions.
