Support your answer with examples of surviving from your own life, and other books you have read or movies you have seen. Your entry must be at least 7-10 sentences in length!

Cornell Note- Taking • Get out one piece of paper and a pencil. Write your name, date, class period, and “Notes for Assessment #1” on the top right hand corner. • DO NOT RIP THE PAPER!
Writing Assessment #1 • After reading Hatchet, what events in the story led to Brian going from a dependent “city boy” who knew very little about how to take care of himself, to a self-reliant, strong young man who knew how to survive alone in the wilderness? • What character traits did Brian acquire while surviving for 54 days? • Use evidence from the story that shows how Brian changed. Provide support for your ideas by paraphrasing sentences from the book that support your understanding.
