Henna body art: Whenever there is a happy occasion or festivity, the Indian women apply henna designs on their hands and feet as a symbol of celebration. Applying it is also considered as very auspicious thing. Henna application is a complex art and the artist needs to be proficient to be able to paint intricate designs swiftly. Henna is also called Mehndi. Traditionally, it is made by making paste from the leaves of the henna tree. 2. Bindi: The term ‘Bindi’ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘bindu’ meaning “a drop or a small dot or particle”. It is mostly described as traditional red circular mark on the forehead worn by the Indian women. The customary bindi is made with red sindhoor powder. The bindi is also called tilak when it is applied on the forehead of a person, at any religious function. 3. Sindoor: Traditional authentic Kumkum of India is made by grinding the dried turmeric to a powder. It is considered to be very auspicious by Indian women and thus it is used at various occasions like weddings and festivals. It holds a great degree of significance in India, especially for married women. 4. Tribal jewelry: Tribal jewelry of Gujarat is very unique. As a mark of tribal jewelry and accessories, most of the Gujarati women use to wear a keybunch on their waist. Other jewelry which are famous among Gujarati women are the mangal sutra, earring, necklace, rings and bangles. Production of these jewelries is done in Gujarat and Kutch by few families who have got specialization in this type of artwork.
