Objectives of FSD Introduction in Thika TTI • To develop teachers capacity • To develop multimedia based online courses and materials • To Improve teacher-learner interaction • To implement server Virtualization among other Technologies
Problems solved by FSD • Lack of flexibility in teaching and learning • Lack of quality and multi-sense Teaching and learning materials • Unconsciousness of teacher incompetence in Flexible skills • Lack of ICT skills for Teachers • Low student enrollment in TVET • Misfit of TVET graduates in job market

Challenges Faced by Thika TTI FSD Adoption • Teacher-Level Challenges • Teacher insufficient ICT skills competence • Lack of sufficient time 2) School-Level Challenges • Insufficient institutional in-service programs • Limited accessibility to ICT resources • Limited technical support
Internal Based Solution • Formulation of a workable FSD policy and ICT Support Function • Improved use of existing computing resources • Ease acquisition of personal computing resources • Sensitization of available technologies and materials
External Based Solution 1) COL interventions • Capacity building- online course and workshops • Support to hosting space as hosted service for server application 2) Provision of open source materials and software
Institutional Plan for the Next One Year 1) Completion of the FSD policy 2) Formation of the ICT support function 3) Capacity building to all departmental champions 4) Piloting one course by use of FSD skills to a few students per department 5) Transform one learning room per department into an e-learning centre by use of Ncomputing and thin technologies. 6) Increasing access to education through ODL
