  2. INTRODUCTION • Reading is an essential part of young children for their overall good and well-being. It is also fun and enjoyable for young children, which opens doors to all kinds of imaginative worlds for them. Books are the best friends in everyone's life. Children who read for pleasure develop general knowledge and a better understanding of other country's history & culture.

  3. In particular, the home environment is significantly important for the development of child reading skills. • The support and understanding of parents are key for developing their child's reading. • After home, a child spends most of his time in school. So, the best school environment also makes a huge improvement in the student’s reading habits.

  4. Note the following points Create a reading environment • Creating a peaceful environment for the child makes them read peacefully. • The high-volume, noise may disturb and divert the child’s mind. You don’t have to create a big space or a lot of bookshelves for reading. It can be in your child’s bedroom with a chair or couch in a corner, which is enough. • The room should be clean and comfortable and has enough light to read, and two to three books are can help a child connect with reading.

Make reading fun & enjoyable • It is the first soothing rhythm that every mother sing for their newborn baby. • The child responds to the lullaby, and he begins to make a sound of the same tone. • Hearing the rhythm of songs makes them listen to it every day. So, when you read books or sing a song, the child might grow up looking forward to it.

  6. Read in front of the child • Parents are the first educators in a child’s life. A child starts to learn everything from their parents. • In the olden days, every parent or grandparents have told many stories to their kids. Nowadays parents or caretakers are reading stories for the child. • Reading in front of the child creates interest and motivates them to read along with you. Kids are exposed to an ample sort of words when they hear stories. • Though children don't understand every single word you read, the different sounds, words, and phrases will help them to learn new words every day.

Make reading a habit • Make reading a daily habit such as playing, gaming, eating, and sleeping. • Make reading together as a routine practice to a child, so it makes the reading pleasurable. • When you read along with them, they may point out familiar words and read them out. • And ask your child to tell a story about their favorite thing. Create a mini-library in your child’s bedroom so they can read frequently.

Visit the library & workshop • The library is a treasure trove and the best place for young children to explore new books. • Many libraries regularly host story hours, summer reading contests, and other literary programs for kids. • Visiting many workshops, libraries, and book shops help the children to improve their reading ability and able to see other kids who love reading. • Reading different genres of books, stories, novels, and history can also improve the child’s memory. It also increases intelligence and reduces stress as well as helps them understand other country’s cultures & traditions.
