Historical background • The Mi’kmaw nation has lived and occupied the area now known as the Atlantic Provinces. • This area is known as the Mi’kma’ki. ∞ Archaeological findings- 10, 500 years ago. • The Mi’kmaw lived according to their creator • Their identity is directly linked to the land- culture, language and traditions.
