  3. Auction Goals • The Auction fundraising accounts for over halfof our PTSA annual budget. • The Auction Goal is $60,000 • The Raise the Paddle Goal is $40,000 & will go directly to upgrade the library tech lab and related equipment. 

  4. Benefits • Who Benefits from proceeds of the Auction? • All staff & students through programs, support & more • Raise the Paddle contributions go directly to fund a specific school need that benefits all students • The FOWM (Friends of Washington Music) organization receives 15% of the net profit minus the “Raise the Paddle” portion

  5. What Happens? • Fun Happens – Meet & have the chance to party with other parents & staff members • Musical Entertainment- FOWM coordinates live music by the Junior Jazz Band & Junior Fiddlers • Dinner– Salmon & Vegetarian Dinner Menu created by Chef John Platt of St Clouds in Madrona • Golden Ticket (Raffle) - The lucky winner chooses an item from our Live Auction. • Wine Toss- Chance to win a bottle of wine • Dessert Dash- The table with the highest bid gets 1st pick • Restaurant Frenzy & Wine Frenzy- Bid on bottles of wine and restaurant gift certificates at face value.

  6. How Can You Help? Looking for Volunteers • Publicity Captain (communications) • Ticket Sales Captain (data entry) • Raffle & Wine Toss Captain (lead teams) • Life Auction Captain & team members • Check In/Check Out Captain (lead team) • Food Prep (chopping for 4 hrs 3 days before event)

  7. How Else Can You Help? • Procuring Items for the Auction – Restaurant & spa gift certificates, wine, services, & Live Auction vacation packages • Deadline February 16th • Looking for Sponsorships – do you work at a business that could sponsor the Auction? • Deadline February 28th

What is FOWM • Friends of Washington Music (FOWM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 1995 whose mission is to provide support, aid, encouragement, and assistance to those engaged in the study of, teaching of, and enjoyment of music at Washington Middle School. FOWM is governed by a board of parent volunteers and our two WMS music directors.
