Formula V=πr²h This should look very familiar after finding the area of a circle. Most of the formula is the same, but we are now also multiplying it by the height. This distance from the top of the can to the bottom of the can.

2m 10 m • Write the formula V=πr²h • Find and substitute in the radius. • Find and fill in the height. • Fill in the value for π. 3 or 3.14. • Solve the equation remembering. V=πr²h V=π(2m)²h V=π(2m)²(10m)
2m 10 m • Write the formula V=πr²h • Find and substitute in the radius. • Find and fill in the height. • Fill in the value for π. 3 or 3.14. • Solve the equation remembering. V=πr²h V=π(2m)²h V=π(2m)²(10m) V=3(2m)²(10m)
2m 10 m • Write the formula V=πr²h. • Find and substitute in the radius. • Find and fill in the height. • Fill in the value for π. 3 or 3.14. • Solve the equation. V=πr²h V=π(2m)²h V=π(2m)²(10m) V=3(2m)²(10m) V=3(4m²)(10m) V=12m²(10m) V=120m³
Remember before we were finding the area of the circle. If we have the area all we need to do is multiply it by the height.
A=6ft² Step: 1. Multiply the area of the circle by the height. 15ft V=6ft²(15ft) V=90ft³
r=5m 6m • Write the formula V=πr²h. • Find and substitute in the radius. • Find and fill in the height. • Fill in the value for π. 3 or 3.14. • Solve the equation. V=πr²h V=π(5m)²h V=π(5m)²(6m) V=3(5m)²(6m) V=3(25m²)(6m) V=75m²(6m) V=450m³
A=6cm² 30cm Step: 1. Multiply the area of the circle by the height. V=Ah V=6cm²h V=6cm²(30cm) V=180cm³
