  2. In our country Christmas is a veryimportantcelebration. We start gettingready for it by decorating a Christmastree. All churches have specialNativityscenedisplays. On December 24, when the first star appearsin the sky, we all sit down to table to celebrate a festiveChristmassupper, consisting of twelvedishes. Under the Christmastreetherearepresents for everyone. Attwelvea.m. we all go to church to participatein a Midnight Mass.

  3. EASTEROn Holy Saturday the whole family go to church carrying a basket containing bread, salt, ham, eggs, sausage etc. When the food has been blessed, we make Easter eggs. Before festive breakfast (when we eat the food from the basket) children get small gifts from Easter Bunny.

  4. INDEPENDENCE DAYIn Poland the most important national holiday is Independence Day. In 1795 Poland was partitioned by threecountries: Prussia, Russia and Austria. After 123 years, in 1918, Poland regained its independence and came back to the maps of the world. Every year many towns and cities organize celebrations to commemorate these days.

  5. WEDDINGIn Polish culture a wedding day is a very important day in a person's life. A ceremony starts in church with a mass and this is when the bride and groom make their vows. After the mass the young couple and their guests all go to the place where the party is held…

  6. First a festive meal is served, after which the ball begins. There a tradition to take off (in a very ceremonial way) the bride's wedding veil - it happens at midnight and symbolizes her beginning a new life. Theneveryonepartiesuntil the verymorning.
