All teachers delivering LSC (Learning and Skills Council) funded provision are required to join the IfL. • This is part of the initiative to professionalise the workforce in the post compulsory sector.
All members are required to record 30 hours pro rata CPD (Continuing Professional Development) each year • Each year, members declare that they have completed their CPD • A square root sample is selected to be reviewed
Gaining Q/ATLS Those teaching in the sector since September 2007 need to go through the Professional Formation process to gain QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) status. Those employed before that date are encouraged to gain QTLS.
Professional Formation is a post-qualification process • It is not a course • A/QTLS can only be awarded by the IfL
Membership • Currently, members do not have to pay a membership fee • There is currently no fee for those involved in ITT for the post compulsory sector • Fees will be introduced shortly
