Limericks • A limerick is a funny, FIVE-lined poem • Limericks have the rhyme scheme of aabba • EXAMPLE: There was an Old Person of Dover,Who rushed through a field of blue Clover;But some very large bees,Stung his nose and his knees,So he very soon went back to Dover
Ballads • Ballads are poems that tell a story • These poems are often put to music • They are known to be a love poem • Ballads have the rhyme scheme of abab or aabb
Rhyme scheme • What is rhyme scheme? • Rhyme scheme is the pattern of rhyme between lines in a poem • The rhyming lines are indicated by a letter (aabba, aabb)
