  1. On a sheet of paper, rate each of the following statements with a number from 0-4. A rating of “0” means you completely disagree and “4” means you totally agree. • Young people need older role models. • Friends should be the same age. • Adults can’t understand how young people feel. • Everyone deserves to feel accepted and loved.

  2. Discussion and Reading • Did you all strongly agree or strongly disagree with any of the statements? • Why/why not? • Read the short biography of the author, Maya Angelou. http://www.biography.com/people/maya-angelou-9185388#later-successes • Read Mrs. Flowers, page 20-23.
