Production • Production must be considered through all phases of planning. • Load-in: bringing production equipment and other event needs into the venue/site • Load-out: removing production equipment and event needs from the venue/site
Prevent/Handle Technical Difficulties • Contract with a good audio visual team • Secure backup equipment for important production aspects • Provide sufficient time to prepare, install and test equipment • Be prepared to move your event forward without technology
Lighting Terms to Know • Lighting is natural, functional and decorative • Dimmer- device used to fade beam in and out during production
Lighting Terms to Know • Follow Spot- focusable spotlight mounted on the stand which follows the movement of a performer, moving object or audience member
Lighting Terms to Know • Gel- thin color filter placed in a lighting instrument to change the color of the beam
Lighting Terms to Know • Gobo (goes before optical)- cut or etched metal or glass stencil placed between the lamp and lens in a spotlight
