  2. Who is the target audience& how is the genre shown? • Bourne Identity is aimed at young adult white males, as the main character is a young adult, white male. The genre is shown in the opening scene as the opening shot is a wide shot of a man floating in water, the colours of the shot are dark blues and grays, which show mystery and suspense, which are key themes of the genre of thrillers. The narrative for the rest of the film is expected to be danger and action, as there’s a close up shot of a man removing a USB file from an unconscious man’s hip, which could suggest he’s a spy or in danger, both of which link to the idea of there being action in this film

  3. Sound, Mise-En-Scene, Editing & Camera Work • There are two characters introduced, a man who saves Jason Bourne and removes a file from his hip, and Jason Bourne. We know very little about them, only that Jason Bourne must be a spy or work in that field because he has something confidential in his hip, and the other man works on a boat. We know this due to technical aspects as there are close up shots of the removal of the file from Bourne’s hip and also establishing shots of the boat and their location. • There is diegetic sound in the opening sequence of rain and thunder, which establishes the weather and therefore how dangerous it is for them to be out on the water. There is also a shot-reverse shot between Jason Bourne and the man who saved him, where there is dialogue which highlights both of their positions in this opening.
