  2. Comedy Overview • Comedy has an audience of families with young children and adults. Most of the time comedies tend to have light-hearted jokes in them and make you leave with a smile.

  3. Hybrid Sub-Genres • Companies who produce comedies included Disney and Universal for family friendly films. Sub-genres of comedy include romance comedies (rom-coms) and action comedies.

The most successful comedies made include Mrs Doubtfire ($452 million), M*A*S*H ($460.6 million), It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World ($462.2 million), Smokey and the Bandit ($487.6 million), Tootsie ($488.2 million), Nation Lampoon’s Animal House ($513.8 million), Blazing Saddles ($542.5 million), Beverly Hills Cop ($576.1 million), Home Alone ($581.1 million) and Ghostbusters ($610.6 million).
