INTRODUCTION The Filipino Christian is lost somewhere. To be a “ good Christian” does not have to abandon his cultural heritage . Jose Rizal “ AngsinumangdimagmahalsasarilingWika ay masmasahol pa saisangmabaho at malansangisda.”

LOVE OF COUNTRY It would be very difficult for us to serve God’s purpose for our nation if we do not have a deep love for our country . It is love for this country that will cause us to overcome every obstacle, every hindrance and every opposing force to the fulfilment of God’s purposes for our nation.
The Christian’s love for our country is an extension of Christ’s great commandment, to love your neighbour “as yourselves.”
What does it mean to be a Patriotic? • A Patriotic is one who intensely loves and zealously supports his own country.
What does it mean to be a Patriotic Christian Filipino? True Christian Patriotism • To build a nation “under God’s principles. • Confident In Our Nation’s Strength • Feel the Need to Defend their “Rights, “Freedoms,” and “Possession” and it requires sacrifices.
Why Filipinos are Special? • God , prior to creating the Philippines, had set what our nation’s purposes will be. He had predermined how the Philippines will be a blessing to other nations. It is our responsibility to seek and understand God’s specific purposes for our nation. Our nation’s contribution to humanity or how God wants our nation to be a blessing to other nations of the world.
What Peculiar Contributions to the World is the Filipino designed to Give? • Tony Meloto is a living Filipino Hero, and has touched so many lives, thus connecting the rich, middle class and specially the poor Pinoys through his vision and advocacy work in ‘GawadKalinga’.
Famous Speech in Ateneo de Davao • We must believe that we were designed for excellence. • World- class Filipino doctors and nurses are healing the sick of America and Europe.
Our sailors dominate the seas in every mode of marine transport for commerce and pleasure providing every imaginable form of service- and often always, they are the best navigators, the best chefs, the best entertainers.
Thriving economies in Asia carry the mark of Filipino managerial expertise in their start-up stage. Filipino CEOs, CFOs, COOs captain top multinational corporations carrying on the proud expat tradition of SGV’s Washington Sycip, PLDT-SMART’s Manny Pangilinan, P&G’s Manny Pacis and many others.

This led to the development of GUI Drug Detection • Dr. Enrique Ostrea developed the method for detecting drug use by pregnant females by detecting traces in the baby’s stools. His method is used by doctors worldwide in diagnosing drug dependency in infants.
MISSIONARY In the field of mission, Filipinos will make for excellent missionaries, because we have no record of aggression against any other nation or people.
Strengths of Filipinos 1.Pakikipagkapwa-Tao Filipinos are people who really value the meaning of relationship, they are open to others, feel one with others and sensitive to others feeling. Pakikiramay, pakikiramdam, pagtitiwala, utang na loob, at pakikisama are under this strength.
2.Family Orientation (Pagpapahalaga sa Pamilya) • Filipinos are known for a close family relationship, they posses a genuine and deep love for their families which include not only their parents but also their siblings, and other relatives. Filipinos have a strong belief in “Blood is thicker than water”.
3.Joy and Humor (Kagalakan at Pagpapatawa) • Filipinos have a pleasant disposition, they can afford to laugh at their own mistakes and can make jokes about their good and bad fortune.
4.Flexibility, Adaptability, and Creativity (Pakikibagay, Madaling sumunod, at pagiging malikahain) Filipinos have a great capacity to adjust and adapt to different circumstances and surrounding environment, both physical and social.
5. Hard work and Industry (Puspusang pagtatrabaho at Kasipagan) Filipinos have the capacity for hard work given the proper conditions, the desire to raise one’s standard of living and posses the essentials of a decent life for ones family, makes the Filipino work very hard.
6.Faith and Religiosity (Pananampalataya at pagiging Maka-Diyos) Filipinos have a deep faith and respect to God. • The result of Filipinos faith are courage, daring optimism, inner peace as well as the capacity to accept tragedy and death.
7.Ability to Survive This strength is manifested in Filipinos capacity for endurance despite difficult times and their ability to get by on so very little.
