1.3 Segments, Rays, Parallel Lines, and Planes Segment: part of a line consisting of two endpoints and all points between them Ray: part of a line consisting of one endpoint and all the points of the line in one direction Opposite rays: are two collinear rays with the same endpoint; always form a line
Naming Rays and Segments Name the segments and rays in the figure. Q P Segments: LP, LQ, PQ Rays: LP or LQ PQ and PL QP or QL L LP and PL form a line. Are they opposite rays? No, because they do not have the same endpoint.
