IETF Liaison report to T11 Elizabeth G. Rodriguez October 9, 2003 03-705v0
IPS • IPS will not be meeting in November IETF in Minneapolis. • For the most part, work in IPS is the hands of the IESG. The current status of all documents can be found at https://datatracker.ietf.org/public/pidtracker.cgi (enter in the wg acronym IPS) • FC Encaps, iFCP, FCIP, iSCSI and IPS Security are in the RFC editors queue. They are waiting for other documents before they can be issued as RFCs. In particular, they are waiting on: • FCIP-SLP and iSCSI-SLP: IETF last call complete. IESG has raised a point. Waiting for info from the AD before proceeding. • String Prep: New draft to address IETF last call issues submitted to AD/IESG. • iSNS: Revisions in process • iSCSI Boot: Waiting for AD.
IPS • IPS has several MIBs that it is working on. The first 6 MIBs are in the hands of the IESG. The status of these MIBs follows: • SCSI MIB: to be sent to ADs for further processing. • iSCSI MIB, FCIP MIB, iFCP MIB, FC Mgmt MIB: IETF expert review • Auth MIB: Revision needed. Waiting for info from AD. • iSNS MIB: Still in WG. Revision needed. • Command Ordering draft recently forwarded to ADs for further processing. • iSCSI Naming & Discovery: waiting for feedback from AD • Name Extension draft needs to be checked to see if it is inline with T10. Once this has been confirmed, can be put up for WG last call.
New IETF Working Group • Tentatively titled ‘Internet and Management Support for Storage’ (imss) (preliminary charter posted to T11.5 mailing list) • Will be IETF home for storage oriented MIBs developed in T11.5. • IPv6 over FC draft will also be hosted in this group. WG last call will probably be announced on this draft in a few weeks.
IMSS • Will hold initial meeting at IETF week of Nov 9. Agenda to include relationship with T11.5 and to discuss IPv6 over FC draft. • To subscribe, send email to imss-request@ietf.org with subject and body consisting of word subscribe. • Can also subscribe at https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/imss or email to me (elizabeth.rodriguez@dothill.com or elizabethrodriguez@ieee.org) and I will add you to the list.
